So I just sold my PC to one of my friend and bought a new one from OfferUp . The guy from OfferUp told me I will need to reinstall window again( he still have his Microsoft account connected in the PC I bouaght from him and he gave me the password to log in . He told me to reinstall window because he said he will use his Microsoft account on another PC and it doesn't allow 2 people to use it at the same time ) I am kind of confused about what he said . Is it true that I need to reinstall window ? If so how do I do it ? I already have a hard drive with window on it which I downloaded from the Microsoft creating tool thing , if I log into my account and uses it , does that mean my friend will lose his window ? Should I just delete window and reinstall it ? Sorry in advance because I don't know too much about window and computer because I am kind of new to PC

How to reinstall Windows 10 if my computers used the free upgrade from 7 and 8?

You will need to tie it to your Microsoft account. I've wiped multiple drives and pc's, and just reinstalled windows 10 from USB and then logged into my Microsoft account and it activates. One's you login with your microsoft account just go to the Microsoft website and verify your pc is activated on your account before you wipe your drive and do the reinstall.

 

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

 

register PC with microsoft; use local account to log in

Just simply log in with your Microsoft Account.
Switch to Microsoft Account in Windows 10

Just go back to using a local account:
Switch to Local Account in Windows 10

Hopefully the tutorials are step by step enough.
