Windows 10: Stuck on boot no dots, any ideas

I've follewed the repair guides, CMD fixes etc but I'm not sure the behaviour is the same.

If I leave my pc powered off for a long period or unplug it for 30 seconds (graceful shutdown) when I try to turn it on I will get stuck at the windows boot logo no dots and at that point no more HDD activity, if I then just press reset the machine will boot.

I've tried removing ram, changing slots. New hdd, clean windows install. BIOS update

This is an older machine so I'm not sure if it's a win10 issue, I don't recall it on the previous windows install.

Any help would be great

Windows 10 is always stuck at spinning dots; can't reset and can't recover

I just upgraded my Alienware Aurora R4 from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Everything seemed to go okay. I was able to log in and everything as per the usual. Then I went to reboot it, and now it stays stuck at the spinning dots (before loading Windows). I am able to get into the BIOS but I cannot do a lot of things I have been trying to do to fix it:

• Can't boot into Safe Mode (stuck at spinning dots).
  
• Tried running the command prompt from the recovery screen and doing chkdsk and sfc scans. Nothing seemed to be wrong.
  
• Can't System Reset (also gets stuck at spinning dots).
  
• Can't boot into Windows 10 USB recovery media I made for it (tried both legacy and UEFI boot mode options, but this also is stuck at the spinning dots).
  
• I unplugged all peripherals besides mouse and keyboard.
  
• ePSA boot looks good; no problems found.
  

I have researched into this, I know that some people have successfully been able to reset after this, but not I. Similar questions haven't helped. I can't seem to do anything. I don't mind wiping this garbage PC at this point and reinstalling from scratch, but am unsure how. It looks like I may need to run some other boot software to wipe the entire system off the PC. Any suggestions?

 

Anniversary update stuck on spinning dots

I cannot install the anniversary update on my desktop. It shows a never ending spinning dots after rebooting during the update. I was waiting overnight with no progress. Hard drive stays idle. It behaves the same when Windows updates automatically or when
I run the update from a USB drive created with media creation tool. As suggested somewhere here, I uninstalled Norton antivirus, made sure Microsoft Defender and firewall were disabled, unpugged a network cable, disabled the network card in BIOS and did a
clean boot (disabled all non-Microsoft services) before running the update. Still, update gets stuck at the same point.

Can someone please help me to perform the update?

 

Stuck at Spinning Dots

Well, I do not think it is a windows driver. I booted into safe mode and still long wait to get into windows. It seems every reboot, it gets longer. Last time was over 11 minutes of spinning dots. I thought it was the KB4103721 and tried uninstalling that and still long boot times. Windows then wound up reinstalling that and again, long boot times.

I have the latest dell drivers and firmware.

The on thing I did notice is for my LSI 3008 integrated controller, Dell's site is at 2.51.21.0 but windows has installed 2.51.21.81.

Another note, opening device manage takes a while to populate the list.

Any ideas?
