Windows 10: Can't get a bootable SD card to work. Read post.

So recently I bought a microSD card and put it into my computer with an adapter. Everything seems to be fine, but the thing I bought it for isn't working. I changed the boot list and legacy boot list so it would boot and then installed Windows 10 onto it with Media Creation Tool ISO through multiple different apps. WinToUSB, AOMEI, and Rufus. But none of it seemed to boot. No corrupted files, the EFI was there. And I hope it isn't the SD card I was using. I even paused the startup to check for boot devices, and it wasn't there.


Can anyone help with this?


Computer: Windows 10 Build 2004, 237GB, HP laptop.

SD Card: MicroSD, 128GB, Samsung EVO Select, read: 100 MB/s, write: 90 MB/s.

Phone is not reading the SD card.

There is a possibility that the SD memory card corrupted. Please try to perform a Scan Disk maintenance on it by following the steps below:

• Turn off your phone and remove the SD card. Use a SD card reader and plug it in to your computer.
  
• Open Computer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Computer.
• Right-click the SD card drive that you want to check, and then click "Properties".
  
• Click the "Tools" tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check Now.
  
• Put a check mark on the "Automatically fix the file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors".
• Click Start.
  • Wait for the Scan Disk process to complete, then mount your SD memory card back to your phone.

SD card/SD card reader no longer working

Hi. New to this so not sure of category.
I have a Lenovo G70. Windows 10, 64bit
My SD card reader has stopped working.
In Device Manager, the SD card is not listed.
I can't format the card as it is not listed.
I cannot locate the card at all as it is not listed anywhere.
I've tried chkdsk and get 'Cannot open volume for direct access'
I don't even have the icon displaying when micro SD card is inserted.
It did work previously but I had errors. Scanning and fixing did not help.
I place the SD card in my Android phone and it works fine.
Please help!

Cant read the SD card

Oftentimes, a corrupted device can result to issues in reading your SD card. For us to isolate the case further and determine the appropriate resolution, provide answers to the following questions:

• Have you checked if other external devices/accessories are properly detected on your device?
  
• Can you confirm if the SD card is being detected on another device aside from the one that you're using?
• What procedures have you taken so far?

As an initial troubleshooting, we suggest that you run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter by following these steps:

• Press Windows key + W and type Troubleshooting.
• Choose Troubleshooting.
• Click on View All option on the left pane.
• Click on Hardware and Devices and follow the prompt to run the troubleshooter.

This tool checks the hardware connected to your computer for common issues and gives details on how to rectify them. If there are any suggestions given by the troubleshooter, you may try those and check if it helps.
