Modem Can Go Up to 1Gbps - But its Capped - Help

I have an Arris TG1672G I bought on ebay that on paper can go up to 1Gbps. But for some unknown reason its capped at 100Mbps. My theory is that the person who sold it to me got it from an ISP that capped it to reduce traffic on its network. But I'm not 100% sure. Is there a way for me to somehow uncap it?

    :)

I'm checking users guide, but there is nothing about any advanced settings.. to limit Ethernet ports

Can you check in modem (192.168.0.1 - most probably) if there are any advanced settings for Ethernet?

Edit: also change your cable to another port in modem

Edit2: go to your router settings page, under LAN settings, check if any port has limited speed..

Modem Can Go Up to 1Gbps - But its Capped - Help

I'm confused by your speed definitions. Youre saying my network speed my ISP provides is indicated by the ethernet connector light. And the 343Mbps speed is the max speed my modem can download. So when I run a d/load speed test which I get 100Mbps on thats because my ISP wont provide any more speed. If thats true then youre saying its my ISP's fault. But that makes 0 sense since I'm subscribed to 400Mbps by my ISP. So how can that be my ISP's fault??

Ok, heres the deal. I'm subscribed to get up to 400Mbps with my ISP. Now when I run a d/load speed test by going to a d/load speed test website, I get a download speed of no more than 100Mbps. A rep from my ISP checked my hardware by going into Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections\Ethernet Status and there the dialog window says speed is 100Mbps. She said its my motherboard thats capped to 100Mbps. But that makes 0 sense since my motherboard is MSI H110M Gaming with speed of up to 1Gbps. So it CANNOT be my motherboard. What do you suggest?

Heres a screen shot of my ethernet status:

And problems were same before you changed it?

Some routers have settings to set the speed of network ports. Did you check it?

Edit: from your modem's user guide..
LEd on the rear: green = 1 Gbps, amber = 100 Mbps-- if its amber, something on computer's side is wrong
