Funny bug...upgraded to Win 10 pro for free

I have two laptops, let's call them A and B. A is 3 yrs old and B is 2 yrs old, both came with Windows 10 Home. A couple of days ago, I upgraded them both to Windows 10 2004 version. After that, the start menu on B stopped working common bug, so I tried to rollback the upgrade but windows said it deleted the files required to rollback. Anyway I managed a workaround for B.

Immediately, I rollbacked the update on A. After that, I was able to go into about my PC, upgrade Windows, and there was an option to go to Pro version without any price mentioned. I just clicked and am now on the Pro version.

This is unexpected. Did anyone else encounter this? I tried signing in on B using the same microsoft account but the upgrade there is not free; I see a price.

Seems to be weird bug but hopefully that is happy.

    :)

  3. upgrade Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro

I have several times tried to upgrade my desktop (dual boot Win XP and Win 7 Pro) to Win 10 Pro using the downloaded ISO file, and keep my personal files and apps. It runs about 36 hours then fails. How can I make this upgrade? If not using the ISO file
is there another method to accomplish this ??

    Thanks for suggestions.
