    Desktop icons missing on domain account login


    I have a user that logged into a new workstation Lenovo Yoga and their desktop icons from their profile are not populating. They have icons, just the ones that they added Chrome, Office, etc. Show icons option is turned on, tablet mode turned off, restarted explorer.exe. Profile works on other domain workstations, what are the things that I am missing?

    Must Kill XP Login Icon

    That's the funny thing, I don't have it passworded. But everytime it boots, it stops at the blue login screen and it will sit there until I click the icon, which takes me right to my desktop, no password required.

    I know how to change the icon, but can't make the thing go away! *Mad Desktop icons missing on domain account login :mad:

    Must Kill XP Login Icon

    you also have to turn off the guest account and delete any other accounts there so your account is the only one.

    do this and remove password and you boot directly to desktop without seeing froggy

    Domain Admin can't set Desktop Icons

    A brand new Win 10 Pro (64-bit) from DELL.
    FWIW, BOTH DOMAIN ADMINs and DOMAIN USERS were added to the Local Administrators Group.

    I (DOMAIN ADMIN) wanted to add "This PC" and "Network" to the local Desktop.
    I couldn't open Themes | "Desktop Icon Settings" to do that.
    Win10 threw an error suggesting no rights to do that! Is this CRAZY or not?

    So logged in with a DOMAIN USER account and THAT user COULD do it!
    What's going on here? I'm starting to get scared of this PC. *Shock

    Has anyone seen this behavior before?
    Is there a fix?
