  1. Is there ANY actual fix in 2020 for Windows 10’s god-awful bluetooth pairing system or am I...

I have a JBL Flip 3 portable speaker that I’m trying to pair up with my PC running Windows 10 to use as the audio output in place of the built-in speakers on my monitor, which obviously don’t sound nearly as good. However, it’s been absolutely nothing but a complete headache from the get-go and as of right now, I still haven’t been able to use the speaker with my PC for longer than a few minutes at a time before it just disconnects itself, and even then, the audio stutters so bad that you can barely even tell what you’re hearing.

I’ve already spent a good 3-4 hours looking up and trying various methods of doing this, including but CERTAINLY not limited to: trying to use the speaker both with and without the USB cable plugged into my PC; updating, disabling, deleting and reinstalling the device drivers on my PC related to the speaker; downloading the JBL Connect app on my phone to update the speaker itself; resetting the speaker to factory settings before re-pairing it with my PC; turning off the bluetooth on my phone to avoid the possibility of interfering with the speaker connecting to my PC; using the Windows 10 Troubleshooter when it popped up as an option (absolutely useless); and, of course, rebooting my PC. At absolute best, these fixes are all just temporary and work for maybe five minutes max. At worst, they somehow disable ALL audio outputs on my PC and force me to restart it so that I can use my monitor speaker again.

At first, I thought that maybe there was either something wrong with my JBL speaker or it was just incompatible with my PC’s bluetooth to begin with until I remembered that I actually had very similar problems trying to pair my Bose Spundsport wireless earbuds to my laptop a couple years back, which also ran Windows 10 as its OS. This led me to believe that this was actually a problem with Windows itself since both my speaker and earbuds have always connected to my phone just fine. Out of curiosity, I looked it up and was both shocked as well as incredibly dismayed to see how common it is for bluetooth enabled devices like speakers and headphones to have HUGE problems connecting to PCs running Windows 10, and not only that but the fact that macOS of all systems actually works quite smoothly with bluetooth connections compared to Windows which seems to hate them.

While there are still some “solutions” to this problem that I’ve come across, I’ve already tried several others that I found beforehand which were supposed to work but of course didn’t and have wasted enough time and energy as it is getting more and more frustrated about this, so for the sake of simplicity, I’ll just ask this: is there a fix out there that will ACTUALLY work for Microsoft’s horrendous bluetooth pairing issue here in 2020 or do I have to swap out my perfectly good JBL speaker for wired speakers that I’ll need to then go out and buy because Microsoft refuses to fix a major problem with Windows 10 that they’ve known about for years now?

  2. Bluetooth does not Recognize/Pair/See Bluetooth Hardware

System Information: Asus Notebook UX303L, Windows 10, Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition

Okay, I've been working on this for awhile and have tried a million things. I'm going back to square one so pretend I haven't tried anything yet.

    Here is the problem.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 (from windows 8.1) on a 2 month old laptop. On previous version there were NO problems with bluetooth. The problems started immediately after upgrade.

When the upgrade finished Windows 10 remembered all of my previous Bluetooth pairs. My bluetooth mouse (Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition) worked before the installation but after my system reboot the cursor no longer showed movement. The batteries are new. The mouse is acting exactly like it does when it is properly connected (lights flash, makes scrolling sounds, etc). When I checked the Bluetooth device screen it still showed as paired. I rebooted. No change. So I unpaired the device. When I unpaired the device it flashed for a second as a possible device to pair with and then was no longer on the list. Other possible devices to pair with appear and disappear from the list without cause. (Ex. sees a scanner for a few seconds then no longer has a scanner. Sometimes its up for a few minutes at most but the list is constantly flickering.) So I rebooted. Then it did not see the mouse at all. I did this for several days. Sometimes when I would turn on my laptop it would flicker, sometimes it would not. After about 3 days with no explanation it suddenly showed up and did not flicker. I connected the mouse and it worked for about 2 days. On the 3rd day I tried again, and the cursor would no longer respond even though the mouse was acting exactly the same. I rebooted. No change. I unpaired the device and it never showed up on the list. It's flickered a few times but when I click on it to pair it pops up with an error basically saying "cannot pair. Please check and see if the device is still set to connect to bluetooth." That is only on the rare occasion that it actually shows up on the list long enough to hit pair (maybe 2 times out of 50 attempts or more.)

I've tried everything I can think of, but I'd like to try everything in order that someone else would try to see if I'm missing something.

It is a Microsoft mouse by all means it should work on Microsoft drivers. :/ Arg. Please give any suggestions to help.

  3. Can't remove paired bluetooth devices in Windows 10

I made an account here just to thank you for this solution. I spent hours trying to remove a paired bluetooth controller from my machine from the bluetooth menu, device manager, even using third party programs. Every time I would go to pair the controller again the system would re-install the driver as soon as the controller went to pairing mode, but it wouldn't actually pair!

Removing it this way made it instantly show up in my pairing list and it works perfectly. I was about to reinstall Windows I was so frustrated.

Thank you!!!! You're my internet hero of the day.

    Bluetooth in windows 10

So I bought a new Bluetooth headphones the skull candy uproar since my old one isn't working. It came with only the headset and usb charging cable. The problem is I can't seem to pair it to my pc. I have windows 10 by the way. There is no Bluetooth on off button in windows settings. I went to device manager but there us no icon for Bluetooth. I did everything I knew but none of it worked.I can post pictures if anyone needs. An alternative might be a Bluetooth dongle but I m not sure I'd it would work plus I paid $50 so don't wanna spend more

I looked up on Internet and many people seem to have issues with windows 10 and Bluetooth. I thought of asking here knowing my UK friends are smart.

Anyone have any idea of how to get Bluetooth to work on my pc.

PS don't curse windows 10. I already know it's a mess and not a very good os.
