  1. Updates practically brick my machine

    Every single time, without fail, a new windows update comes out it totally bricks my machine. I try to log in and it gets caught in an endless loading cycle. I know after you update sometimes it takes a bit longer to start up but on more than one occasion I will leave this thing on that login screen overnight for around 8 hours and it doesn't log in at all. Is there something wrong with the machine or the way windows was installed? I tried even totally uninstalling windows just to be met with the same issue next update.

    Update Bricked My Phone

    Not bricked but update failed:

    1) Phone model and operator/country: LG E900/Optimus 7, not operatorlocked

    2) Step where update fails: passes the blick 1-10, then reboots, after reboot fails in or after step 1/2

    3) error code(s): 8000040005

    4) does the computer/zune recognize the phone? Yes

    5) host machine OS and version (32/64 bit): Windows Professional 32bit

  3. gpu bios update failed, gpu bricked

    I would suggest a cheap pci card and ensure you use the correct path where the bricked card is so you dont accidentally flash the pci card

    I need to know if this update wont brick my laptop

    I need to know if this update wont brick my laptop.

    -> I would do this:

    1. Download & install the free version of Macrium Reflect.
    2. Use it to create an image of your system partition. Park it on an external USB disk.
    3. Create a Macrium Rescue flash disk.
    4. Do the updates.
    5. If they brick your machine, restore the Macrium image.
    6. Fix your keyboard. The full stop key no longer works which makes your post unnecessarily hard to read.
