Windows 10: The new behaviour of “Update and shut down” in Win 10 2004 is inconvenient ; any way to...

Since I updated Windows 10 to version 2004 some time ago, I noticed that whenever I now choose “Update and shut down” in “Power” in the Start menu after Windows Update installed updates, Windows reboots before installing the updates and shutting down. I really preferred the old behaviour : Windows starts installing the updates, turns the computer off, and then finishes installing the updates the next time I turn it on… With the new behaviour, there’s this extra step of rebooting, and I also have a dual-boot setup with Linux, which is the default option when the computer starts. Because of this, I have to stay in front of the computer while it reboots, and I lose a couple of minutes


I don’t have much hope, but it can’t hurt to ask : is there any option I can use to revert to the old behaviour ? Thank you

Feature Update Win 10 Pro 2004

AFAIK, update history is cleared after installing feature update. This is expected behaviour, nothing to worry about!

Feature Update Win 10 Pro 2004

The Feature Update Win 10 2004 appears to have installed successfully on my computer.

It is listed in Settings, System, About.

However, the Update has wiped out all of my previous Windows Update, View Update History which is now blank.

Moreover, the Feature Update Win 10 2004 itself is not listed in Settings, Update and Security, Windows Update, View Update History.

Is this important?

And if so, how can it be repaired?
