Windows 10: Is Skype personal dead for Microsoft? Zoom is the king -> Heads down accepted by Microsoft?

I tried installing the Skype Desktop application and the windows app both. However, in default apps selection both won't show up. It shows up MS Teams and Skype for Business but won't show skype personal.


I checked many forums on your community and all states that the architecture has changes blah blah blah. For me, this feature was working 3-4 months back and now it won't.

It was so convenient to click on a phone number on a webpage and then click to call function will open skype.


Why can windows not show Skype in the list? Is Skype no longer a calling application can we use and look at some providers?

Delete a person from Microsoft People

I did manage to remove the person from my Microsoft people app by uninstalling Skype and reinstalling it. However, when I open Skype and enter the person's name it shows that he is listed in my Skype contacts (I'm not mistaking this for the others of
similar name in the Skype directory). Yet, when I view my Skype contacts on all of my devices, the person is not listed. The only link to this person is that apparently I made a call to him a while back, but he is not one of my Skype contacts. Suggestions?

Microsoft to Acquire Skype for Over $8 billion

I wonder how many of those are active accounts and how many, further, overlap with Microsoft's exisiting services. Brand is about the only useful thing I see Microsoft getting out of it but seriously, is the name "Skype" worth $8.5 billion? I'm thinking this was a bone-headed move on Microsoft's part unless they got major undisclosed plans for them.
