Windows 10: 0x800707E7 during "Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004"

Hi,


I have an issue similar to https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-10-update-fails-with-error-0x800707e7/db2e3be2-69ad-4c35-8eb8-dd5270327859?page=1

but not exactly the same. I can see 2 profiles when I type in netplwiz and I dont have any .bak things when I check regedit. Please find the logs and screenshots of my netplwiz and regedit: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqHZxIzvL88tgi530Xq0Q6bNhOs2?e=mliN8l


Please advise what to do.

Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004 - Error 0xc1900104

Three failed attempts to install Feature Update to Windows 10, Version 2004.

Error codes: 0xc1900107 and 0x800707e7

Am using Verizon Ellipses Jetpack (4G mobile hot spot) to access Internet. Maybe device data throughput isn't up to the task.

Any suggestions?

Re: Download tool - will it cause issues given: when I clicked on the link you provided, it says May 2020 update. I was able to successfull install June 2020 to date updates except for Feature Update to Windows 10, version 2004 - 0x800707e7?

1. Thank you for your reply. I read through the article. My laptop is already in Windows 10 as I bought it as a Windows 10. So I do not need to upgrade to Windows 10. All Windows 10 update since I bought the laptop back in Dec 2019 have been successfully
installed, except for one. All I need is to successfully install the Feature Update to Windows 10, version 2004.

2. I found this link Error code 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D that
states “ Feature update 2004 is currently an optional update, that is being released in phases, initially that is only suitable for a sub-set of PC hardware, then Microsoft will fix any bugs found and release the next phase that will include more PC
architectures.

For now there are a lot of bugs in that update and many users are experiencing difficulty installing that update, it is best to wait a month or so, before attempting to install that update until Microsoft resolve the bugs that have been found in that
update . . .”
