Help! "No WiFi networks found" - laptop was working fine, now suddenly doing this

Hello. Thanks very much in advance to anyone willing and able to help with this. This just happened a couple days ago.

Everything was working fine. Now when I try to connect to my wifi I get a pop up saying "No WiFi Networks Available".

I've already tried the basic fixes. No I don't have an actual internet switch or button or toggle. I've tried troubleshooting, just keeps saying wifi is turedn off and doesn't fix the problem; and i can't turn it on, which is why i'm here.

I've attached some screenshots. Sometimes when I try to connect I can see the networks. Most of the time it says no networks available. In either case, the window pops open only for a second then reverts back to the smaller window with the drop down to turn WiFi back on manually. In the screenshots, one shows the networks, one says none available, one just says Netgear and the last is that smaller window.

The mobile hotspot isn't working either - I click on that, same thing happens.

It's an issue with my laptop, it's not the WiFi. I DO have service, my other devices are on it and there's no issue.

So, just today I installed 2 updates thinking that might help. It didn't. Still having the issue. If I connect via ethernet it works just fine.

Also, my WiFi adapter is missing from my device manager. Lots of other stuff is there but no WiFi. I did the scan for new hardware, nothing.

I run windows 10 and I have a Dell laptop.

    Thanks again,

    Maria

Network sharing not working over WiFi but works over wired.

    Hello,

I have some laptops and computers in my office.

Suddenly out of the blue today, network sharing has stopped working on WiFi devices but is working fine on wired devices.

    Why is this happening?
    I didn't change any setting.

I tried restarting the router and laptops multiple times but nothing worked.

The wired and wireless connection use the same default gateway with a static IP. IP is different but the default gateway is the same (10.0.0.1)

Why did this happen all of a sudden?
And why is wired connection working but wireless is not?

    Edit:
After further testing, even wired to WiFi and WiFi to wired network sharing is working.
    But not WiFi to WiFi.

  3. Wifi disabled Suddenly Please Help

I got a new ALienware 17 laptop which is just working fine. I got windows 10 already installed in it after purchase.

    Everything was working fine....

I was using it just hours ago and connected to a wifi in our school and suddenly the wifi connection just suddenly went gone.

I thought the school admin just turned off the router.

When i got home,i turned on my laptop and i cannot detect even our wifi at home.

My old laptop (which is still working) was able to connect.

I wonder what caused the problem.

I wasn't installing any software before it happened. I didn't even touched wifi settings. It just suddenly gone.

I dont think its a hardware problem.

I tried to look at Device manager > Netwtork adapters > Killer Wireless-nlaJac 1535 Wireless Network Adapter

    I double clicked it

The Device Status is WORKING PROPERLY.

I also went to Network settings >Chancge adapter options and wifi was Disabled.

When I double click it.. it will just say:

    Enabling..... Enabled..

But the status is still DISABLED.

    heres the screenshot:

  4. Help! "No WiFi networks found" - laptop was working fine, now suddenly doing this

Laptop speakers suddenly not working, but headphones work fine.

I'm really baffled here as to what's going on with my laptop audio. It was working just a few days ago from what I remember and now tonight when I was playing a game in Steam the audio just wasn't working. Checked audio settings in the game, all was good. Turned the game off and started testing using YouTube, still nothing. The volume is definitely up and I found that headphones work fine. When I open the 'Playback devices' dialogue from right clicking the speaker in the task bar it shows the green equalizer bar moving up and down if something is playing, but there's no audio. I've checked for any conflicting devices in here and ensured everything was enabled as per usual.

So far I've updated the drivers, uninstalled the drivers completely and reinstalled them (automatically after restarting laptop), and have checked for updates on my computer (all up to date). My device manger does have 2 drivers listed which I thought was weird, but maybe it has always been like this? I'm not sure honestly. I uninstalled both and they both came back after restarting. Is there anything else to try? I thought uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them would fix it, but nope.

System details: Windows 10, Acer Aspire laptop (~7 months old? No issues thus far). Let me know if I need to provide any more details! Very frustrated and need to get to bed now because of work in the morning, but I will be sure to check back and try any suggestions and answer any questions.
