    Every time I try to install it, it gets 20%-30% of the way through, then fails, returning the same error code every time. “0x8007042B - 0x2000D The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation.”

    I have tried installing straight from the installer, installing from a USB, and a variety of other things, but I can not determine why it fails.

    My specs are: 93 GB free on C: 10 GB of RAM Intel i5 4 core Nvidia GT 640

    I cannot figure out what is going on, no matter what forum advice I follow.

    Does anyone know what might be causing this issue?

    Best thermal paste

    Most decent thermal paste is about all the same (1-2 degree difference). Without knowing the two listed, (I use MX-2), I would suggest going with the one that is non-conductive.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
