    I went through the entire thread of troubleshooting this and I even tried to Refresh my pc and even that kept giving errors and would not complete no matter what I tried. I am unable to update windows or install from the windows store.

    Error 0xC800044E- Windows Store

    Greetings,

    whenever I try to download an app from the Windows store on my laptop, I get the message that an error occured and that I need to try again. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I try, I still get the same message.

    The error code is 0xC800044E and I run a windows10 laptop.

    Would anyone know how to fix it?

    I have the exact same problem as Vouivr. I tried all these suggested steps, and still receive the same error when I attempt to download an app from the Store. Anyone figure this out? Thanks.

    This issue might occur if there are change in system settings like date, time or if the proxy is enabled.

    I suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps listed below and check if it resolves the issue.



    Step 1: Adjust your Date and Time Settings



    Having an incorrect date/time settings can cause the Windows Store not to work. To adjust your date/time settings, follow these steps:

    1. Type Date and Time in the search bar and select it from the results.

    2. Adjust the correct date and time and exact
    time zone depending on your region.



    Step 2: Disable Proxy Connection



    Incorrect Internet settings might also block Windows Store from working.

    1. Right click on Start and select Control Panel.

    2. Select the "Internet Options" which opens up "Internet Properties" window.

    3. Under the "Connections" tab click on "LAN Settings".

    4. Uncheck "Use Proxy server" option and check "Automatically detect settings"
    and click on OK and

    Apply to save the changes.



    Step 3: Run the Apps troubleshooter.



    Run the App troubleshooter to fix issues that may prevent Windows Store from working properly.

    Click here to
    download and run the Apps troubleshooter.



    Step 4: Reset Windows Store Cache



    If issue persists, reset Windows Store to clear the Store cache. Here's how:

    1. Go to the search screen and type
    wsreset


    2. Right click and select Run as administrator.

    3. Windows Store will open. You can now browse the Store for apps. Now try to install or update the apps or

    download fresh apps and see if it’s working like it should.
