Windows 10: Forgot Windows 10 Local Password

I have Windows 10 Build 19041.


In the process of trying to fix the issue of getting a message to fix shared accounts See https://windowsreport.com/you-need-to-fix-your-microsoft-account/, I changed my local account password and then forgot it! I log in with a PIN, so I can still get into my computer. But The steps laid out in the link above tell me to sign into my local account and then switch back to my online Microsoft account. I need the password to my local account to do this, so now I am stuck. I do NOT want to have to reload everything back on to my computer just to reset my password. Supposedly I am supposed to get asked for security questions if I can't remember my password, but that option is not appearing. Please help! :-

Forgot Local Password

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and reset the password for the local account and check.

• 
  Login in to your Microsoft account.
  
• 
  Press Windows logo key + X key.
  
• 
  Select Computer Management.
  
• 
  Click on Local user and group.
  
• 
  In the right window pane, double click on user’s folder.
  
• 
  Right click on local user account and select set password and follow the on screen instructions.
