Windows 10: Changes to Microsoft Jigsaw

Somewhen, somehow, Microsoft Jigsaw updated on my computer. Now, I don't mind updates, because they're usually done to help items work better/more efficiently.

This is one of the few times I've seen changes in an app that both made it less efficient AND REMOVED FEATURES.

Item the 1st: The puzzles I have downloaded installed previously used to show up in two rows on my display. This was nice as I've used the Jigsaw game for years over 3-4 computers, so I have a couple dozen puzzles installed. The double row made them easier to browse.

Item the 2nd: For some reason, the puzzles as installed take up more space as in the pieces are larger, which makes it hard for me to arrange the pieces the way I want. This is minor; I'll work out another system, but it's incovenient.

Item the 3rd: For backgrounds, there used to be 9-10 different backgrounds, including my favorite, which was a light colored blond in the furniture industry wood. Now there are only 5. Dark Grey, white, dark green, dark brown, and dark wood. Basically, the game REMOVED 3 mid-range color backgrounds and ONE OF THE TWO light backgrounds. If this is an "improvement" I'll eat my hat.

GEez, guys, where the heck did you get the idea that REMOVING FEATURES was an improvement?


Don't expect an answer, just wanted to rant. But it would sure be nice if y'all brought back the backgrounds that you REMOVED.

Microsoft Jigsaw Will Not Load

I was getting Error Code: 0x803F8001 both before and after "uninstalling" Microsoft Jigsaw. It worked perfectly for years, but stopped working within the last week. It would start to load, and eventually bomb out. I have tried the following suggestions:

• Uninstall Jigsaw. Now I cannot reinstall Jigsaw. Get Error Code: 0x803F8001
  

• All steps above from Jomari Arc . Step #4 took longer than expected, but it did eventually do what you
  said. These steps did not allow me to reinstall Microsoft Jigsaw.

• Microsoft Windows Store App. Troubleshooter - It ran and said it fixed a "possibly corrupted cache" . This did not allow me to reinstall Microsoft Jigsaw.

In a similar community, titled "Microsoft Jigsaw Error code Ox803F8001", I tried all of the steps from Loraine Mon, from this link: Microsoft Jigsaw Error code Ox803F8001

Again, this did not allow me to reinstall Microsoft Jigsaw. Messages are "downloading", then "acquiring license", and then it errors out with Error Code: 0x803F8001

Day after day, same problem. Xbox and Store and Solitaire all work fine. Microsoft Jigsaw is the problem. When it was installed, it bombed out trying to open. After "uninstalling", it will not reinstall.

We would suggest you to try uninstalling the app and re-install. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

   Uninstall an app.
   
2. You can refer
   Microsoft Jigsaw to re-install.
   

If the issue persists, kindly try to
create new user account and check if it helps.

Microsoft Jigsaw Stuck Ad

Since the troubleshooter wasn't able to resolve the issue, we suggest resetting the application and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Open Settings.
  
• Click Apps.
  
• Locate Microsoft Jigsaw, then click Advanced options.
  
• Click Reset.
