Windows 10: Intel Rapid Storage Technology alerting SATA SSD Incompatible

WINVER 2004 build 1904.1
Recently I performed a routine drive update as I have on this machine (DEL XPS 8700) since 2005 and I installed without thinking (as I do with other updates) Intel Rapid Storage Technology dirver and now I get subject warning.
And am advised that I may lose data!

What should I do?
Uninstall? how?
Ignore?
Do something to take advantage of the new driver?
First, I do not know what all the acronyms mean and am typically plug and play and forget.
Second, I have researched on my computer what are the different names for these storage devices and I cannot find the referenced or cited problem device a SATA SSD (30GB) drive. (Could this be a partition?)
Third, I have recorded all of the device properties to see if there are any intersecting acronyms like IRST or SATA or SSD or NTFS or C220 chipset SATA AHCI. I then looked up what these acronyms decode to
Fourth I searched to forum for threads and I found four that were similar but very old and did not meet the criteria for "replying"

I will try and post a screen shot of both the warning, Device MGR Disc and HD property









Again, this only occurred 3 AUG 2020 and I have been routinely running updates since 2005 - why now?
What does it mean?
How do I avoid the threat of losing data? (part of the warning)
Which drive is the 30GB drive?

Any insight would be appreciated

Intel Rapid Storage Technology disconnecting SATA drive

We understand that the SATA drive gets disconnected from your computer. To get clarity, it would be great if you can reply with details requested below:

• Do you receive any error message when the SATA drive gets disconnected?
  
• What is the make and model of the computer?
  

As you have mentioned that restarting the computer fixes the issue. It could be possible that the Intel Rapid Storage Technology service is not running properly. We can check if the service is running or not and try changing the Startup type of the
service. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key
   + R, to open Run dialog box.
   
2. Type services.msc and click on
   OK.
   
3. Scroll down, look for Intel Rapid Storage Technology, right click on it and select
   Properties.
   
4. Select Automatic from the drop down for
   Startup type.
   
5. Click on Start to start the service and click on
   OK.
   

If changing the Startup type didn’t help, you can try installing the latest

Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers.




You may also check the AHCI settings in BIOS.



Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that
any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

This issue might occur when the drivers are not updated properly.

I suggest to download the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver from manufacturer’s website and install it.
