    Incorrect monitor resolutions

For several years I've been using a 2 monitor setup: a Samsung SE790 3440x1440 and an ASUS VS247H-P 1920x1080 Sapphire RX5600XT GPU for reference. For a couple months I had to move from my usual space and connect to a television, during which time I had to reinstall Windows because Windows Search didn't work correctly. Everything seemed to work fine until I moved back into my previous space. Now my second montior the ASUS is seen as a generic non-PNP monitor and the only resolution available is 640x480 and most times, if the primary monitor is powered off sleep, timeout the maximum resolution will be 1280x720. A reboot usually not always fixes the primary monitor but never the secondary. I've tried them as individual monitors and the results are the same. The only difference is the secondary monitor does not show the splash screen at boot or anything in safe mode.

I can apply a custom resolution to the second monitor through Radeon Software but not the primary. So far, the only work around I've found is to apply a custom 1080p resolution to the secondary monitor and never let the primary monitor power off but, as I've said, it's only a work around.

So far I've tried reinstalling the GPU drivers newest and WHQL even using AMD's cleanup tool and DDU to remove any leftover settings, uninstalling the drivers and using defaults, downloading the drivers from Windows Update, reseating the card, resetting Windows, and doing a complete reinstall. Always the same result. I've spoken with Sapphire and we're both leaning towards this being a driver related but on Microsoft's end ie misidentification of the monitors.

Is this a known issue introduced in a patch or something that has a fix?

    :)

  2. Monitor resolution

The correct resolution for my monitor suddenly disappeared from the list of choices in device settings and Windows now insists that it use an incorrect resolution making everything appear stretched out. Windows insists that the most up-to-date drivers
are installed and will not allow any updates. How can I get the correct resolution back?

  3. Monitor Displaying Incorrect Resolution

I have an HP p6732f PC with an AMD Athlon II X3 445 processor and I'm having an issue where my monitor has now switched to an incorrect resolution.

I have a Samsung B2030 monitor and it is supposed to be at a resolution of 1600x900. It has been at this resolution for years until yesterday when after I closed a game it switched to a resolution of 1024x768. The highest resolution available in settings
    is now only 1152x864.

That game won't open anymore either.

Now throughout all of Windows, it is set at this low resolution and I've tried to change it back to 1600x900 in Windows settings, but it is not available. My attempts to fix this have not succeeded, got any ideas?

    Second monitor screen resolution problem

    Hi,

For us to properly isolate the issue with your second monitor screen resolution, we would like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?

    • When did the issue first begin?

    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you try resetting your monitor settings, and check if the issue still persists. You may refer to your monitor on how to reset it.

We look forward to your response.
