C Drive says -906GB available but usage bar says 174 GB used and 732 GB free space

I'm nervous about why my Lenovo laptop running Windows 10 won't save my Word document. Granted the document is large but the file is only 1.12MB in size. I keep trying to empty up disk space but I've gotten rid of a lot of unused and unwanted Music and Documents files and it still won't save, not even AutoSave; it says that AutoSave was postponed for it. I managed to get a screenshot of the disk space display in settings and save it, but I still can't save my Word document. I tried running a QuickScan with Norton Antivirus and it didn't find anything.

I don't want to lose this important word file as I worked my butt off writing it all. My Lenovo D drive says -25GB left but the display bar says 1.62GB used and 23.3GB free.

Needless to say this is confusing and I haven't found a solution that doesn't scare me into believing I'll lose everything. I'd save it all to USB drive, but I'm afraid I can't find one at the moment.

    Here is the screen shot:

I'm extremely afraid of what's going on and I'm not highly computer tech savvy, so I need some dumbed-down tips to figure this out and so I can save my work. I'm a writer, so obviously this situation is frightening.

Any help that doesn't involve downloading anything and making it worse is welcome. Not keen on wiping the drive either. I hope to God that this isn't an undetected virus or whatever.

    :)

  2. Windows Update hangs then says "Updates are available, but we temporarily need 1.15 GB-1.15 GB of space to download" when there is plenty of space"

    Thanks for your suggestion

I emptied the temp folder and did a disc clean up creating 2.3 GB of free space

Same message came up saying it needs 1.15 GB-1.15 GB of space to download

    • My windows 10 upgrade consumes all of it's drive c: space (50 GB)
    • I am unable to install the update,
    • I suspect the windows 10 need this much space and it is some kind of glitch,
    • Please suggest a way to free up some space as I don't prefer to format partition C:

C Drive says -906GB available but usage bar says 174 GB used and 732 GB free space

OneDrive says 235 GB in cloud but no files stored

Check your OneDrive Settings Tab, if Let me use OneDrive to fetch any of my files on this PC is checked (I think it defaults to this) is probably why you're seeing all of your C: drive folders.

My mapped OneDrive just reflects my C: drive usage.
