wifi - unable to change guest connection to router into "normal" connection

    Hello

I have run a home network for some yearswindows 10, and my router is connected to the internet. As I have guests in the summertime, needing an internet connection, I have added a guest connection to my router TP LINK. Now the problem:

recently I acquired a new laptop, with windows 10 preinstalled. During the setup of windows 10 the guest-connection to my router popped up, and I used this connection to finish the installation of windows 10.

Now I am unable to get rid of this connection. I have added the normal connection, lets call it TP_normal, to my known networks, and configured it properly. HOWEVER, IT WILL NOT APPEAR IN THE LISTING OF AVAILABLE NETWORKS., not even after rebooting. its a nuisance. Other peoples networks appear on the list neighborhood networks, together with my TP_guest connection, which I have tried to disable, but it keeps on popping up.

my assumption: the TP_guest connection must have been "low-level" saved to the system as the default and only possible connection to the router, during my first installation.

question: can I change registry settings to get rid of the TP_guest connection, or use some netsh command which? to achieve my result?

as I mentioned before, this is a real pain in the rectum for me, as I cannot get started using my new laptop, because I am unable to connect to the internet and install software actually FSIM2020, which in fact is the reason why I had to buy a new laptop!

with regards, hoping for assistance soon I will definitely not use the guest connection as long as there are guests in the house

ps: I deliberately avoided a listing of "ipconfig all", etc. etc, as I consider it not to be part of the solution, because the solution should be obvious from my above description, but maybe I am wrong here....

    :)

Wifi not connecting to router network

My wi-fi router runs two separate networks to connect to: "RoseMagnolia" and "RoseMagnolia-Guest".

Both have been visible and available to all devices in our home including this laptop. However, recently something changed on this laptop and I am not able to connect through the primary network, RoseMagnolia. It can be seen on the list of available networks,
but has a circled X symbol next to the connection waves. It asks for a connection key, but will not connect to the network. It's now the only network that I cannot connect to automatically. I do automatically connect to the -Guest network which gives me
    full internet access.

My dilemma hinges on not having access to devices, especially a wireless printer, linked through the original RoseMagnolia network.

So, all suggestions appreciated, regardless of my implied ignorance. wifi - unable to change guest connection to router into "normal" connection :)) How do I get back the primary network on my laptop?

  3. Cannot connect to wifi

Hello, I'm running a Surface Pro 3. I use it for work and my personal life. At work, we have three different wifi connections. My preferred one is the "guest" wifi. I've been using it since I got my Surface almost 2 years ago. I've never had an issue. Two days ago, I noticed I wasn't connected to the web. I disconnected and reconnected to the guest wifi. It showed "No Internet, secured". Chrome shows that the DNS address could not be found. I am able to connect to the other two wifi options and access the web (I prefer the guest access because it doesn't limit what I do on the web). I took the surface home with me and again, no issues connecting to the wifi at home, or some public wifi I tired. Everyone I've talked to is able to connect to the guest wifi at work without issue. My network administrator (who is technically not allowed to work on my surface because it is not a company device) says nothing has changed on his end.
I followed some of the trouble shooting steps on other posts. I did run the system file checker and determined that opencl.dll (I think that is the file name) was damaged. I was unable to repair it.
I am hoping someone could possibly run me through troubleshooting this issue? It's an annoyance more than anything and I would like to see if I can fix it. Thanks in advance.

  4. wifi - unable to change guest connection to router into "normal" connection

laptop cant connect or stay connected to internet

And please do check that is the connection problem is occurring with that specific WiFi router or with others too? Try to connect using different router, and if you don't have a router try connecting it to WiFi hotspot and test it.
I had that problem when my old-router stopped working I replaced it with new one and in a day my laptop HP-450 was unable to connect to it whereas all other devices were connected. At first I had the same feeling that my laptop was not working and tried every thing but nothing worked. Then I tried connecting to my WiFi hotspot and it worked even in long range. Then I called Dlink and got it replaced. With the new router I had no problems.
Also do check the number of devices connected.
