  1. Help! System randomly restored to 2017?!

So we just did the most recent set of Windows 10 updates after not updating for a few months. My husband ran the update and said he did not get any error messages or anything like that. However, after the update, the computer would randomly freeze and give us the blue screen. This was while watching Youtube. He would let the computer restart but every time after a few minutes of use, it would give the blue screen again.

Now, the computer was being overclocked. My husband went into the BIOS and changed it to not be overclocked and manually changed the fan speed settings.

Once starting Windows again after doing this, the strangest thing happened. The computer seemed to have been restored to an earlier restore point in 2017. When we check the list of Windows updates under settings, the "latest" ones say they're from 2017. The system also seems to be running extremely slow, even though the processes under Task Manager don't look like anything out of the ordinary.

Are we just screwed now? Have we lost everything from the last few years?

System restore point automatic create not working....need help.

Were you seeing CAPI2 errors with Macrium & System Restore.

    And after enabling system protection.
    1) Does System Protection automatically create and populate checkpoints to list.
Does System Protection create restore points when called by a program and populate checkpoints to list.

    2) I'd like to confirm whether my issue is unique to me or common.
My issue is that I can manually create restore points okay and those manual created will populate to my list.
Automatic restore points do not populate to my list. Albeit, Task Scheduler shows Last Run time change.
Automatic restore points do not populate to my list e.g., with Windows Updates.
When create restore point is called by a program. I see activity that suggest restore point is being created ...but, again the activity does not translate to an entry in my list.
