  1. Audio, Video, & Outbound Ethernet Traffic Stuttering, Skipping, Or Glitching

    Video Example: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1wt7FziRnWCyA7f16

This is a Dell Precision 7520 with i7, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, and Windows 10 Pro 2004.

Audio playback experiences skips, glitches, or stuttering. Video will do the same thing on screen at the same moment as the audio. Furthermore, I use this laptop to control lighting equipment, which involved sending control updates 40 times per second from the Ethernet port. The lighting activity also freezes momentarily at the same time the audio and video skips or stutters.

The resources are not overwhelmed. In fact, this system is far overpowered for what I use it for. I cannot seem to find any particular action that causes the stuttering to occur. Opening up lots of programs **seems** to make it happen more often....but then again, just sitting around with a Chrome tab open and Spotify playing in the background, it happens seemingly just as often.

The machine was reimaged after Dell support sent me a new hard disk to replace a Hynix M.2 that seemed to have power control issues (it would not always wake up after sleeping). Using the Dell image, I updated it fully with Windows update, including the 2004 update. I used Dell Command Update to install all of the drivers. Support had me redownload the entire driver package for this machine, and I've had no luck with that.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this an issue with 2004? Are there any fixes for it? Should I be reimaging and sticking with 1909?

  2. Audio Glitches

Can someone help? I was trying to record a minecraft video by using the Game Bar Capture, I recorded for 13 minutes and I stopped the recording. I watched the video and the audio was stuttering and glitching. For example, the audio was freezing and playing
over and over again! The whole video was fine and smooth. But every time I record I get this audio glitch bug thing.

Audio, Video, & Outbound Ethernet Traffic Stuttering, Skipping, Or Glitching

PC lagging and stuttering during network traffic (Win 10)

After a big windows 10 update, the OS started to stutter on ONLY internet (browser) traffic through web browsers. I also regularly access a personal nas which does not cause stuttering. (unless in combination with web (browser) traffic.

    Interesting notes:

All of these complaints like this keep mentioning 'network' traffic but always revolves around web browsing. There is a distinction.

If i uninstall the Ethernet (an intel adapter) reboot and it re installs, it is fine but over the course of hours the stuttering will gradually build back up until I am back to the OS nearly unusable. (effect visible using latencymon)

Other interesting note: MS edge causes the MOST stuttering.

Does not matter what network adapter I switch to, it will eventually build back up and stutter. EVERYTHING stutters, mouse audio and video.

This only started after a large update from microsoft. Fresh virgin installs have same issue now.

Only my windows 10 installs suffer from this after that update. (dont remember which it was)
