Windows 10: File name starts with an underscore "_" cannot be deleted on the desktop.

Hi,


I was saving an pdf article in Chrome via the print function on my account desktop. After reading that i tried to delete it but the delete function gives me no response, which usually there is a prompt box to confirm whether I wish to put to the recycling bin.


The file name is _Act Now to Transition to SORA_ - Keynote Speech by Ms Jacqueline Loh, Deputy Managing Director Markets & Development, Monetary Authority of Singapore, at The Association of Banks in Singapore’s Roundtable Session on SGD Interest Rate Landscape Chan.pdf


What I have tried so far:

1. Default Windows file explorer - I tried to rename it to a shorter name using default Windows file explorer but failed
2. CMD - Name using the full file name, short file name and wildcard. CMD suggested that it cannot find the directory
   
3. CMD - Delete using full file name and short file name. CMD suggested that it cannot locate the file using the short file name. Using long file name, CMD suggested that one of the words 'Development' was not an internal pr external comment, executable or batch.
   
   
4. CMD - Delete using any pdf method. CMD suggested that this cannot locate that pdf.
   

Let me know if any one or Microsoft Windows Technology Help could assist.

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

 

Cant Delete Files From Desktop

Well, ran into a weird bug with vista, for some reason i cant delete files from desktop, this normaly happens to .exe files, the ONLY fix seems to be to KILL explorer.exe, and delete the file, then restat explorer, anybody got any idea why this happens?

OK. It seems like I need to do a step by step:



Menu > Installations > Messenger > Open Messenger try to type in my domain name which includes an underscore that I am unable to type. I've tried pressing the Ctrl, Chr, button with the grey and white triangle, with the 'K' which has a dash, and by pressing
them on there own. Nothing.
