Windows 10: Taking a dump on Windows 10

Per the subject line, I'm looking to create a memory dump of my system in its current state. The key bits here are that I'm looking to make it a complete dump and without crashes... Which has frustrated my research into this process at times, since it seems A the typical protocol involves either reproducing or artificially inducing crashes, and Blike there might not be a workaround to the fact the "Write debugging information" drop-down was on automatic/active can't remember which now dump by default, with a restart apparently needed for the change to "complete" to take. Then I found this article.


Which gave me a little hope. Trouble is, this process sounds like it only applies to a server or remote debugging setup, which I do not have. The host and target are one and the same for me.


So in view of all this, am I just SOL here? Or can I actually make something like WinDbg work for my situation? Maybe there's even another way entirely to meet my no-crash, complete dump criteria? Thanks to any kind souls who can give me guidance in this headache.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
