  1. Wireless Hosted Network supported Yes in Windows 7 and supported No in Windows 10

    Dear Microsoft Technical Team.

I Have a mini usb wifi dongle with hardware description "Realtek RTL8188FTV Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter"

in windows 7, i can make wifi hosted network and works perfectly to more than 10 devices, but in windows 10 wifi hosted network marked not supported see in image attachment. Now, I'm stuck with mobile hotspot option that limited connection only to 8 devices. Any option to bring back wifi hosted network in windows 10 ?

  2. Hosted network support not available on Surface Book2

The new wlan network cards for Windows 10 do not support the hosted network because Windows has provided the mobile hotspot feature in its place. So network adapter manufacturers no longer provide
drivers to support the hosted network.

You can still use the network hosted in Windows 10 on those old network cards where there is the appropriate driver for this feature.Read here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/u...3257/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html

    Try changing the driver manually:

    1) Go to Device Manager> Network Cards, select the card in use, choose "Update Driver"

    2) Select "Search for driver software on your computer"

    3) Select "Choose from a list of drivers available on your computer"

    4. Two or more drivers will be listed, select a different driver from the one currently used on your computer, then install it.

If you do not resolve, try to contact the manufacturer of your network card and ask if they can suggest an appropriate driver that supports the hosted network.

Otherwise you have to opt for the mobile hotspot.

Hosted network suddenly not supported in Windows 10

    Hi,

The hosted network not supported error can occur if the wireless adapter isn't turned on or the Microsoft virtual network adapter is disabled. It can also occur due to the misconfiguration in network adapter settings. What I can suggest
is to follow the instructions on this
    link
provided by Joy Kempai posted on January 15, 2016. This should help in getting the
    hosted network not supported fix.

Let us know how it goes.
