"Override high DPI scaling behavior" settings found under "Compatibility" is reset once...

    Hello,

To improve visibility of a exe file I have I go through these steps:

    "Properties"

    "Compatibility"

Clicked on "Change high DPI settings"

Clicked on "Override high DPI scaling behavior

    Selected "System Enhanced"

    Press "OK"

    Press "Apply"

After seeing the improvement on the scaling of the application, once I close it and reopen it, the scaling is back to the default setting. This makes me change the setting every time prior to opening the application.

How can I make it so that it remains under these settings?

I tried to add a registry entry but couldn't find how exactly.

    Thank you

    :)

  2. Override high DPI scaling behavior setting is reset after closing program

I've been trying to adjust compatibility settings for an older game (The Witcher Enhanced Edition), and I was able to get the game properly running after disabling "Override high DPI scaling behavior" in compatibility settings for the program. For some
reason, every time after exiting the program, Program Compatibility Assistant would prompt me that it had changed my settings, and the override high DPI setting would be re-enabled. To circumvent this I tried disabling PCA through services and group policy
editor, but the setting still kept reverting even though the prompt from PCA stopped appearing. I've discovered that I'm able to change every other compatibility setting without them reverting, but every time I attempt to disable high DPI scaling override
it always reverts after closing the program. How can I prevent this issue? It's extremely annoying to have to change the properties for this program every time I want to run it.

Edit files in the WindowsApps folder or Override high DPI scaling behavior for Windows Apps

I'm trying to fix some visual issues with some windows apps in regards to high resolution monitors. Normally with any other app I can use the Override high DPI scaling behavior for Windows Apps setting on the .exe file or create a .manifest file to fix
the scaling issues. If I could edit the manifest file for the windows app or if the Override high DPI scaling behavior for Windows Apps worked for windows apps I could fix the issues.

Regarding High DPI Scaling Behavior In Windows 10 (p)

    Hi David,

High-DPI scaling improves the way Windows 10 handles automatic scaling per-monitor, which reduces the amount of blur or incorrect size for legacy apps. Here are the three scaling options:

    • System (Enhanced) will make the text and interface look crispier and elements will be sized correctly. This new option will override the way that a particular app handles the DPI scaling, which can result in interface elements and text
being blurry, and allows Windows 10 to take care of the scaling.
    • Application used to be referred as "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings." Using this option will force the app to run on a per-monitor DPI awareness.
    • When you enabled System, Windows 10 will stretch the interface, bitmap elements, and text will be blurry. This is the standard way Windows 10 handles scaling.

The new DPI scaling settings are only available for traditional desktop (GDI-based) apps. Windows Store apps cannot be configured with these options because they're already optimized for high pixel density displays.

Should you need additional information, do let us know.
