  1. Windows Search Services - Clients search results are limited to 32 or 64 items

    Hello,

We have deployed and testing the Windows Search Service WS feature on W2k12R2 Standard with Windows 10 Pro, whilst the WS indexing and the Win10 doing a text content search over the network is working ok, the search results are initially returned, lets say, 244 times, yet once the search appears to 'complete' the results are then cut to 32 or 64 items.

The only thing I have tried is the query syntax to include 'relevance:>100' I cannot not see any query syntax that would force the return of all results.

I acknowledge that MSFT advise against enabling WS on servers and that is fine, but still, it is a supported feature and I want to know why only limited results are returned?

If no one has a logical answer as to why the limited search results in WS then we will add the GPO for the clients to index the server shares we want.

    Cheers!

    Dave

    :)

Let's diagnose the issue by referring to the following suggestion and check if that helps you.

First of all, I would suggest you to check if the

      and then click on Properties.
    • Check if the service is running. If not, start the service and change the
      Startup type to Automatic.
    • Follow the same steps to start the Bluetooth service
and change the startup type to Automatic.
You can also try the following suggestion.

Run the Search and Indexing troubleshooter. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    • Press “Windows key + W”.
    • Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Search box and hit enter.

  4. Windows Search Services - Clients search results are limited to 32 or 64 items

Are Outlook 2010 items included in search results?

Whenever I performed a "Search programs and files" in Windows 7, the results included items from my Outlook 2010 data (e.g. contacts, messages, tasks). However, those items don't turn up in the Windows 10 search results, even though my Outlook PST files are listed in the Search Index. The instant search feature appears to work within Outlook 2010, though. Is this by design in Windows 10? Or is there something broken on my system?
