    Laptop has crashed 26 times in 10 days


    I have a 2016 Dell XPS 13 9350. I updated Windows last Friday (Sept 11). Since then it has crashed on average at least twice a day. With the error: System Service Exception for ntfs.sys

    Some times, the error is also: Page Fault in Nonpaged Area

    And others its also: Kmode Exception Not Handled

    Is it really bad for the laptop if this keeps happening so frequently?

    I literally havent changed anything, this started happening after the update on Friday. I cant even roll back to a previous update, it doesnt recognize there are any.

    What is the cause, and what can I do?

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
    Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
    If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

    P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
    Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
    What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

    In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
    Are you able to follow them?
    In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
