    Windows won't detect all my usb peripherals.


    Windows suddenly stopped recognizing all my usb peripherals.

    Core i9-9940x Asus rog X299-XE G.Skill trident Z Asus rog rtx 2080ti

    The second last thing I was doing was watching YouTube in a chrome browser and trying to run Portal Stories VR after changing the "lift.exe" and "lift-win64-shipping.exe" file compatibility mode to Windows 7 to fix an issue where the game spawns you in the floor. When everything stopped working, I was defining play boundaries in oculus vr bridge(oculus rift s, dunno if this has anything to do with it).

    I immediate turned my computer off and on again, but still no luck. So I retried this, whilst removing all usb connections accept keyboard and mouse in case one of them was causing problems but no luck.

    After that I booted to bios and my keyboard and mouse were both detected by my motherboard in the bios and all usb ports are enabled, but when I exited still nothing was detected by windows.

    Any help is greatly appreciated, I would rather not have to reset my computer :-/

    essential USB peripherals arenot detected by Win 10

    My USB peripherals are not detected by Win10 including my "windows compatible", corded Logitech K200 keyboard and corded Logitech 500 mouse and without both a mouse and a keyboard I have not much use for win10. Luckily I only upgraded my Win 8.1, and have
    kept my Win 7 intact, in which all usb peripherals work faultlessly, so the problem is
    not with the hardware, but must somehow be with Win 10
