Windows 10: cdrw driver Imapi disappearence

last up date of windows 10 on sept 8th caused my cdrw drive to stop writing the iampi disappeared can it be recovered? all i have seen in the community

has not helped

do not understand disk do not format but i can vew cd's that are already done it appears that i can cut and past images on disc but it does not write can i do anything

Taskbar doesn't disappear when entering fullscreen

I tried the Ctrl-Alt-Del and found Windows Explorer. Unfortunately, I didn't choose Restart; I killed the process. (didn't read the instructions well enough!) :-/ ... I did eventually find a way to Restart Windows Explorer, but the problem (disappearing Task bar not disappearing/reappearing as it should/used to) did not solve itself. I then RESTARTED the PC. Still not fixed.

So, I found another answer from microsoft and followed those steps. It worked! (needed the display driver updated.)

Here's that set of instructions:

I suggest you to try updating the Display Adapter drivers check if it works for you.

Follow the steps to update the Display driver:

Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
Expand ‘Display Adapters’.
Right-click on the Display Adapter listed and click on ‘Update Driver Software’.
Select the option to automatically search for the updated driver software.
Restart the computer after its updated and verify.

Also try to access the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest chipset and display drivers for your computer and install the same.

asus DRW-24B5ST cdrw not working on windows 10

I recently upgraded my windows 7 64bit system to a Windows 10 64bit system. All working fine until I noticed that my CDRW optical drive was not longer recognised.

When I go to DEVICE MANAGER it shows an error against the optical drive. I try to update the driver but it tells me I've got the latest driver (which is from 2006 for some reason). When I search ASUS sites for a windows 10 driver - there is none.

So basically since I've upgraded to windows 10 I've lost the ability to read / write CD/DVDs and it's a real pain. I've followed some basic troubleshooting suggestions via the Windows 10 utilities but it doesn't make any difference.

Can anyone please help? All I want to do is get my CDRW optical drive working again. Thank you.
