Windows 10: Windows Creating Multiple User Folders in C:\Users

My windows 10 64bit got corrupt, so I decided to do a system restore and kept my files. After finally setting all the way back up I noted a bunch of folders in the C:\Users section of my drive that keep getting created every time I boot into windows. In addition to this, every time I boot up my pc and the login screen comes, my profile picture is missing and I have to click a button that says sign in, the screen goes black and flashes then I have to click sign in again and then a windows sign in window pops up instead of my just typing in my password like I used to before. Any way to fix this?

Geoff,

This is a shot in the dark.

Several people have been reporting different problems logging in to newly created user accounts.

They just get a user profile service failed message instead of your symptoms.

Whilst their symptom is different, it occurs to me that the cause might be the same.

The common factor is that it affects newly-created user accounts that have never been successfully logged into.

So, I suggest having a look at my explanations in Cannot create a new user account that can be login.

In short -

1 Try copying the NTUSER.DAT file from the [hidden] C:\Users\Default folder of a computer that does not exhibit the problem.

2 Try copying the whole [hidden] C:\Users\Default folder group from a computer that does not exhibit the problem.

3 Try recreating the [hidden] C:\Users\Default folder group using Kapil Arya's linked article.

I have nothing other than a gut feeling to justify suggesting these steps,

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

any more suggestions

User's folder is not present in c:\\Users

Putting aside your somewhat random use of forward, backward, and double slashes, please explain the difference between:

In Windows 7 Window Explorer, one cannot view the UserName folder
in c:\\Users

and

UserName folder, normally viewable from c://Users, can be still be viewed and fully accessed from UserName's Desktop
via Window's Explorer

Click Start, type C:\Users into the Search box, and press Enter

Please list everything you see. If you would rather not reveal actual user names, use UserA, UserB, UserC, etc. Please mention whether view hidden files and folders is enabled or not.

Is the name of one (or more) users missing from the list of items?

Navigate to any document in the "UserName folder" that you can't see in C:\Users, then right-click and select Properties.

What is shown as the document's "Location"? Again, if you want to use UserA rather than the actual name, that's OK.
