Windows 10: Windows refuses to activate from a key on a genuine Microsoft Windows sticker.

So I decided I need software for windows because they stopped making it for macOS. Reinstalled bootcamp windows.

Took the old Windows 7 Pro key, used it on the installed, it all went good and I got my customization permissions.

It was all good until I got the drivers. It got to the servers and for some reason refuses to activate see pictures.

That wasn't the 1st time I got Windows on this Mac.

What do I do now?

Windows 7 not genuine problem

It seems like that's an OEM windows copy, it will do that the every time you reinstall the OS. If you have the key, next time you see the "not genuine windows copy" click it and choose to activate by phone, everything else is pretty straight forward as it explains step-by-step. If it doesn't work, then its highly likely that you got a Pirate copy.

first make sure the not genuine warning is an actual microsoft warning and not some trojan crap

next try to activate, look if she received any keys with the pc

if you are sure windows is not genuine and she was sold a pc including windows, contact the retailer and give them a chance to fix it.

finally contact microsoft and tell them about that bad bad person who's selling pcs with pirated windows *Wink
