    Is it possible to parse File Explorer?


    Hello,

    If this is not the correct subreddit, I apologize and ask for guidance towards the proper page.

    I am trying to parse through similarly named folders to extract certain word documents, copy/paste them elsewhere for further organization. These folders appear on my Windows 10 Pro File Explorer, and also in our Egnyte database.

    I am not sure where to start, I think parsing is the correct word. Is it possible to parse through File Explorer? If so, how would I do so or are there resources to learn more?

    File explorer icon from taskbar dissappears while working on it

    Hi,

    To assist you with your concern, we suggest you pin the File Explorer from the Start Menu by following these steps:

    • Click the Start Menu.
    • Right-click File Explorer.
    • Choose Pin to taskbar.

    Hi Deborah,

    For us to provide an accurate resolution, kindly elaborate the issue by answering the questions listed below:

    • Since when have you been experiencing this issue?
    • Were there any changes on your PC before this happened like software or updates installed?

    For initial troubleshooting, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Access this link

      C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
    • Delete all the files.
    • After deleting the files kindly try and see if there's a thumbnail preview of your files.

    .zip can't be set to File Explorer

    Hello Kathleen,

    I understand your concern, and we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.


    • Type Default programs
      in the search bar and press enter

    • Click on choose default programs by file type

    • Select .zip
      and select File Explorer
    Also you can visit the below link Zip and unzip files.
    (Steps applies to Windows 10).
