  1. BSOD after clean install, dual boot with ubuntu still works

Windows Version: Windows 10 Home 2004

    Laptop Specs

Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon X1 6th Gen

    CPU: i7-8550u

    RAM: 2x8GB 16GB 2133MHz

    SSD: M.2 2280 NVMe OPAL2

    Graphics Card: Integrated Graphics

I had unresolvable BSOD issues about a year ago, which caused my Windows 10 2004 to be be stuck on a black screen after loading. I was unable to enter recovery mode or do anything useful so I ignored it as I had another partition for Ubuntu which I used more frequently anyways.

Now that I need Windows for work, I decided to just format the partition where my old unusable Windows installation used to be. After a clean install, everything worked fine and I was able to restart the laptop, etc. etc. until just now when I got a BSOD again after trying to shut down. The moment I clicked "Shut Down" it went straight to BSOD and the screen transitioned too fast for me to catch the error code.

I tried to boot into safe mode, however doing this resulted in ANOTHER BSOD, which error code I managed to get, which was BSOD critical process died. I tried to reset the pc which failed and it said that ithad trouble with resetting the pc and no changes were made.

I am not sure if this is a hardware problem, as everything works fine on my ubuntu partition and it has been really running smoothly with 0 issues for the past year. Running Lenovo diagnostics on the hardware returns PASSED for Memory and Storage.

I am so lost right now someone please help!!!!

    :)

    dual boot xp and ubuntu

I had that problem a few months ago, but dual-booting is really easy. I am currently dual-booting Vista and Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. Use this website here for a guide to dual-booting XP and Ubuntu: APC's October issue is on sale now! | TechRadar (I actually did not use this guide at all, but I did pretty much the same thing!)

If you are unable to get your boot working with this guide, reply to this message, and I will write out a step-by-step guide, but it will involve you already having a partition set out for XP (as in you are not already using your entire hard drive space for XP alone.) Even though I write the guide with experience from Vista, it will work with XP

  3. Is it possible to clean install windows 10 in dual boot with ubuntu?

So, I have like a laptop with installed windows 10 first then installed ubuntu 14.04 LTS alongside windows.

ubuntu grub boots up asking me for boot options each time i restart.

So if I want to clean install windows 10 while ubuntu is still installed will it affect ubuntu and its data?.

I use ubuntu for work and windows when i am home.

I have upgraded windows 10 using windows update but now i feel like doing clean install of the anniversary update but afraid of losing ubuntu and work data or failure of ubuntu booting after reinstalling windows 10.

Can anyone suggest ideas or solutions?.

    Thank you.

Uninstall Ubuntu Dual boot and Repairing Dual Boot in Windows 10

    Hello.

I had dual-booted my Dell laptop which came with preinstalled Windows 10. I had dual booted with Ubuntu 16.04 by creating a partition on the disk. To remove this dual boot, i.e. I only wanted to keep Windows 10, I formatted the disk, drive F(in my case),
where Ubuntu was stored. But, now whenever I boot my system, a black grub screen comes with the following message:

"Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device completions.

    grub> _"

Upon writing 'exit', I am able to enter Windows.

    1. I wish to know the reason behind it and how it can be removed.

    2. I found this site, Uninstall Ubuntu Dual boot, I went ahead and performed all the steps. But somehow
    ended up with this error.

Also, I saw your reply on this thread Repairing Dual Boot in Windows 10.
But it did not help me to remove my error. I will really appreciate your help in removing this error.

    Thank you.
