Windows 10: Game Pass games not launchable File system error --1069586941

Hi guys,


A week ago i tried starting some game pass games again after a long period of time of not playing and I am not able to launch most of the games.

I was able to play the master chief collection but thats the only one working.


There are two major problems.

1. This happens to sea of thieves and Spiritfarer: When I launch the games, the windows pops up for a few seconds but before anything loads it closes without an error or something else.

2. This happens to nearly every other game Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Ori and the Will of the wisps,...: When I start the game i get the error: File system error --1069586941 and the path where my files are located I think


I already chatted with the microsoft support, and they couldn't help, I was promised that their back end specialist would look into it and I will receive an email but nothing came.

I logged out of my account several times, I deinstalled every game and the xbox app, gaming services, windows store and reinstalled them. The games on every hard drive I have. Nothing ever changes. Do you guys have any ideas?

AMD radeon RX 5700XT

AMD Ryzen 5 2700XT

16GB RAM

Always updated Windows 10 2004

Can't install games with game pass

Hi Ashenath,

If you can’t install Game Pass Games on your PC, follow these suggestions:

Check if you have the right Game Pass

Clear Cache of Xbox Game Pass App

Update to the latest Windows 10 version,viz v1903

Admin privileges for Games

Give Admin privileges for Games

Check Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter

Repair Game if it keeps crashing or doesn’t work

Cannot Sign in to Xbox Live

Game pass games won't work

I can't seem to run Gears 5 or The Outer Worlds, any help would be greatly appreciated. Whenever I run them I get this error code. "Location of exe... File system error (-1069586941)"

When I try to download Gears of War 4 I get this error too:

I've been asked to ask you guys, I made a previous thread here:

But wasn't able to get it fixed unfortunately.

File System Error (-2015294512) when starting games from Xbox Game Pass PC App

Hello. I've been able to successfully play one game from the Xbox Game Pass for PC app thus far. Every other game gives me that File System Error. I am able to install the game, but they will not launch and give me that error, or one ending in 513. I've
gotten the latest updates for my PC. What can be done?
