Windows 10: Old pc at work with intermittent hardware error.. rather get a new PC, but...

reinstalling the software and certain other utilities would be very time consuming.

Is there something out there (utility) that can take a windows installation/hdd and allow it to run in a new PC with different hardware?

I have a new Dell PC. My old HP crashed. I'm trying to recover the data on the old PC. Any suggestions

 

Unlink an old android phone from my pc

I go thru the suggested steps: Start - Settings - Phone - Unlink this PC.

When I first open the "your phone" screen the old phone is listed. Not sure if the phone listed is suppose to be selectable or not, but my is not. When I select "Unlink this PC" the phone listed is removed. When I select "Add Phone" the old phone still
shows. I have removed the old phone from my Microsoft Account. I have rebooted after unlink this pc but I still cannot remove my old phone.

If the old PC is running the exact same operating system (for example Windows 10 Home) then you can initially activate Windows 10 on the new system and then clone the old drive onto the new drive and when you boot your PC, everything will be as it was on the
old PC. Windows 10 is remarkably adaptable to new hardware.

You can use software like the Free version of Macrium Reflect to clone the drive, as long as the new hard drive is of equal or greater size and you can connect both drives to your PC

Otherwise, there is no successful way to transfer applications and settings to a new PC, you can transfer your data no problem with a flash drive or external hard drive, but not installed applications . . .
