  1. Questions about performing an in place upgrade

The In Place Upgrade method is something Ive been reading up on but haven't tried as yet. Im interested in getting feedback from others who use the in place upgrade method.

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html

The same method is explained on the Microsoft Support website check under Reinstall Windows 10 using installation media

    1. If I understand it correctly it leaves All Personal files and Apps/Games untouched and working correctly on all drives even if if you have multiple drives.

I have two internal drives on my PC, a C: SSD drive for the Windows 10 OS and also a 1 terabyte standard internal hard drive with all other Apps/Games installed on it. Has anybody ever done an in place upgrade/repair on a PC with two internal drives such as my PC?

    2. Out of curiosity..Do you use the in place upgrade method to install Feature Updates or do use Windows Update to install Feature Updates? Im wondering, for example if you wanted to update say from 1909 to 2004 and the 2004 Feature Update is available in Windows Update. Would you use the Windows Update method or the in place upgrade method instead? I ask because bootable 2004 USB flash drive installation media could be created using the Media Creation Tool which could then be used to apply the Feature Update.

    3. It could also be used for two extra purposes if ever required in the future to either perform an in place upgrade repair if the PC was having issues or it could be used to clean install as well if required.

In effect then the USB flash drive would be useful in any of the above situations. I dont know how reliable the in place upgrade method is if used for Feature Updates. Should the Windows Update method be used for applying Feature Updates I dont know. I'd welcome any opinions feedback?

    :)
