Windows 10: Strange Login Keyboard Issue

Not sure where I should post this but I'm really confused.

Earlier I restarted to update Windows10 and it got stuck at 90% for around 2 hours. I reluctantly restarted my computer during the update. When it booted up everything was fine after it said it was reverting the update. Update center said I was all up to date so proceeded to go about my day. I downloaded a program for my new work from home job (ThinScale Secure Remote Worker). It wanted me to restart so I did and when I tried to log back in, I have to press each key 5-10 times before it registers and show up in the password field. Once I login (One key at a time, slowly) It seems to be working fine but as I typed this it seems to miss a key every few letters.

Could this be the update that failed or the new software?

  Have you installed any language pack?
  

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.

No keyboard at login

I would suggest you to again login using the on screen keyboard and the follow the steps to update drivers as the issue might be due to drivers.

Follow the steps to Update the driver.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Keyboard.
• Right on the Keyboard driver and click on
  Update driver software.

If the issue persists, then try to search for the drivers from Manufacturer's website and install them in the compatibility mode.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• 
  Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
  
• 
  Right click the driver installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• 
  Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
  
• 
  Try installing the driver and check.

Windows 10 Laptop Keyboard Keys Acting Strange

I realize that you are facing issues with the keyboard on your PC. I will try to help you with this issue.

Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to the laptop to check if that helps.

Further you may also use the onscreen keyboard to check if that helps.

Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:

• 
  Press Windows key + R to get the run window.
  
• 
  Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.
