Windows 10: Got a BSOD on boot up, but the computer booted normally on reboot. Do I need to do anything?

Woke up to a pleasant surprise this morning. The "Your PC/Device needs to be repaired" screen remained up for about a minute before the laptop shut itself down. I pressed the power button just to see what would happen; to my surprise, the laptop rebooted itself normally and works perfectly fine (I am using it to type this post right now).



I looked up the error code (0x0000428) and the blue screen seems to be linked to corrupted files, incompatible drivers, and possible malware. Even though my laptop works again, are there any steps I should take to prevent an irreversible blue screen from happening?



Also, just to throw it out there, my laptop likes to crash; I typically get the frowny face with the "we're rebooting your PC" message a few times every week, and the stop code always seems to be different. Not sure if this is linked to the above issue, but it makes me certain that something about this laptop is a little screwy (I don't think it's my downloads, although that could be some of it - I've had issues with sudden crashes for as long as I've owned this laptop).

ughhh! BSOD on boot

I guess my computer BSOD on boot right before getting to windows. not sure what the problem is though, everything is stable.

It gave me a list of two files in windows that could have caused the problems

 

Cannot Enter Safe Mode / Computer boots normally

I'm running Win 10 Pro 1903.

Here are the steps I have taken to get into safe mode: Start button, settings, update and security, recovery, advanced startup, troubleshoot, advanced options, startup settings, restart. The computer boots normally, not in safe mode. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks in advance for your help and interest. .

 

reboot and select property boot device

You need to set your main Harddrive which has your Operating System on as the first harddrive to boot, if have more than one harddrive.

open Bios
boot priority
Select the OS harddrive as first boot drive , If not sure switch between them
Set correct time and date if wrong
Save and reboot

If not sure on steps , give the Make and model number of motherboard and can assist you.

Hopefully no damage to the HDD
