  1. Troubleshooting missing new folder option in right-click menu

I don't have the option to add a new folder in the right click context or otherwise. I've done some troubleshooting and am beginning to think it is some sort of permission error. This is a recent clean install after hardware upgrades.

To start ctrl+shift+n also does not work. I've followed some advise i've found including looking at the registry like this(i followed the steps, but the registry was intact), looking for missing or corrupted windows files like this (which indicated all is well), even installed a context menu editor shellexview(which would not add the menu), none of which have shown any signs of help.

I also feel it's important to note a few things:

    1. The old boot drive is present and I'm unable to remove the old windows install (permission from trusted installer needed)
    2. The present boot drive was used as a windows install media drive, I'm unsure if this will have negative effects.
    3. The boot drive still has a partition on it which once housed the windows install media (i deleted it hopefully that was not an error). I can't remove this partition in order to expand the main partition.
    4. I am able to creat new folders through cmd but my experience here is minimal and I don't know how to change the directory path.
    5. Windows still boots to a blue screen which has me select windows or install media even though the install media has been removed.

Please help, I'm hoping this is a simple issue of permissions or addressing the install media designation. I would prefer to not do a new install since my internet is weak.

Thank you in advance, I will be monitoring this thread closely.

  3. 'Open in new window' right-click menu option for File Explorer

I just submitted this suggestion on Windows Uservoice:

The idea: the right-click menu for folders in File Explorer has an option called 'Open in new window', which opens that folder in a new File Explorer window. Very useful for copying and moving things, and opening destination folders without accessing the start menu a second time.
