Windows 10: media creation of windows 10 pro download hanging at 64%

I just purchased a full digital version of windows 10 pro for my husband's computer. He had a volume licensed version that was expiring. I tried downloading it on his computer, but it hung up at 64%. So I tried making a backup with the Media Creation Tool, but same issue in downloading. So moved to my faster computer and tried it there; just trying to download to a USB or ISO. Still hung up. I was able to get my husband's computer at least to work by changing the product key, but if I ever need to reinstall using the $200 purchase, I am going to up a creek if I can't even download the thing. What gives? Help please. This is too much money to not even be able to download the program to a backup device.

Media creation tool hangs downloading Windows 10, Progress 0%

I'm trying to create a bootable USB to install Windows 10 on a new drive. I've downloaded the media creation tool, and I'm running the program as admin, but it still hangs at"Downloading Windows 10, Progress 0%"

There are lots of references to this problem, but I can't seem to find a solution that works for me.

I tried:

• Right clicking to run as admin within admin account
• Running services.msc to check that Windows Firewall and Update are indeed set to automatic and currently running.
• Double checked that my thumb drive is empty and configured as FAT32
• Uninstalled antivirus and other extraneous software

@Andre Da Costa is the hero on this topic, but unfortunately many of the threads on this are now archived. Any suggestions I've missed?

You might face this issue if the downloaded setup file is corrupted.

• Did you try to download the setup again?
• Did you try to upgrade through Windows Update?

First, I would suggest you to try updating through Windows Update and check if you are able to upgrade to Windows 10. If you are unable to upgrade through Windows Update, then I would suggest you to download the Windows 10 ISO again and save it locally
on the desktop and then try to run the upgrade.

Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

There is three options:
Windows 10
Windows 10 Home
Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?
