Windows 10: System Sounds keeps reverting to max volume after using Snipping Tool

Discus and support System Sounds keeps reverting to max volume after using Snipping Tool in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; Mostly the title. This just started happening today.     System Sounds keeps reverting to max volume after using Snipping Tool


    Mostly the title. This just started happening today. Last update was like 4 days ago so this is super weird.

    Usually I keep "System Volume" at 5% because that shit is loud AF and really sharp. 5 years with no issues and now this happens. This wouldn't be a real issue if not for the fact that I use snipping tool about 100 times a day lul

    Your post is unclear. Please post a step-by-step description of what you are doing, e.g. like so:

    • Open the snipping tool
    • Click "New"
    • etc.

    "System Sounds" slider in volume mixer Resets to Max Volume when notification happens.

    It still resets to max volume upon notification, but only when the "App volume and device preferences" window is no longer open. (just like the mixer)

    If the "App volume and device preferences" windows stays open, the "system sounds" volume does not max out upon notification.

    "System Sounds" slider in volume mixer Resets to Max Volume when notification happens.

    the system sound volume stops maxing out and other system sounds remain at an acceptable volume, but I stop hearing all notification sounds, including the ones I want to hear (just more quietly), hence my idea about editing all the sounds to be quieter even
    at max volume.
