Windows 10: Windows Home suddenly Unactivated Enterprise.

A bit of background.


I have a HP Windows Home Windows came with the PC

A week or 2 ago I read that it was possible to update Windows 10 Home to Pro using a Windows 8 Pro key. As I still have an old one that I'm not using, gave it a try. Found that it doesn't work. Windows said it was not valid - or something.


No worried. I just went on happy to still use Windows 10 Home.


Now


I turned on my computer yesterday to find that after an updated it said in the corner that it was not activated. After trying and finding it would not reactivate, I noticed that it now says it's Windows 10 Enterprise!


I don't know if this issue is related to my failed upgrade attempt? The aforementioned attempt seemed to fail and Windows went back to normal.


Even if I knew my Windows 10 key, this Enterprise wouldn't accept it properly.


I have tried to factory reset twice, but it always goes to Enterprise. The recovery partition that came with the computer seems to have been removed at one point by a Windows Update?


What can I do about this?

Downgrading Windows 10 enterprise to pro

The procedure is a bit arcane, but I have managed to convert an Enterprise Evaluation to Pro, doing it in two steps: EnterpriseEval to Enterprise (unactivated); then Enterprise (unactivated) to Pro. Details here.

Windows 10 home suddenly changed to enterprise and became unactivated

My windows 10 suddenly changed from Home to Enterprise within the last 24 hours and become inactivated. No windows updates within the last 24 hours. Please help.

 

Windows 10 Pro - windows sandbox shows unactivated Windows 10 Enterprise

if that's the case, why in the world did they give this feature to w10pro users.... this seems like a feature more useful to win10 enterprise users.

also… if I did have w10 enterprise, would the sandbox copy still be unactivated?
