  1. PERMISSIONS Issue - Developing Websites on Windows

Hi, it's a bit of an odd forum to post this on but as it seems to be a Windows - permissions issue - I thought I'd give it a shot.

I'm having issues with developing websites locally....something must have changed permissions in the back end because now whenever I try to update a plugin on the site I'm developing, I get this:

    Trying to install from scratch:

I also encounter this error after creating a site and trying to access it:

My permissions "seem" to be fine on the folders but maybe I'm not approaching this the right way.
    Hopefully, someone can help out!

    :)

    Permission issue

Presumably because TrustedInstaller is the owner (hence you need its permission), suggesting that img3.jpg was installed by Windows at some time.

Presumably that also means it can be uninstalled. How did you get it in the first place? Where is it located?

If you really want to delete it yourself, then taking ownership would seem a logical first step.

  3. Windows 10 Permissions Issues

Hooray!!!! Thanks so much, you are a superstar. Issue resolved.

I thought the fact that "Administrators" were listed in the permissions meant that all Admins had access, but apparently not. Now I added my specific login account, it works fine.

Thanks so much for your help, these UAC things in Windows are quite confusing, I am not (entirely) stupid!!

    Permission issues

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

This may be caused by incorrect permissions on the files.

You can fix this using these steps:

    • Open the properties of the main user profile folder where the files are located (such as Documents, Pictures, etc).
    • Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
    • Check the box at the bottom of this window. It is labeled "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" and then click Ok.
Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.
