Windows 10: Epson XP220 ink levels

how do I check my ink levels on my printer Epson XP-220 it did it automatically until Microsoft updated my computer

I would like to check my ink levels on my Epson XP-220 it did show automatically before or was accessible through the maintenance tab. I now cannot access the maintain printer options. It all changed when I recently installed some updates.

Epson Printer not displaying ink levels

I have a Dell Inspiron PC running Windows 10. My printer is an Epson Workforce 840. It prints and scans fine, but when I try to find how much ink i have left i get blanks for ink levels. When I am printing (it prints fine) I get a message saying there's
a communication error. Apparently it is trying to read info from the Epson fax software (which has been removed from my computer. I have installed new drivers and firmware, but no help. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

To check you ink level, follow the steps below:

• Open your preferred web browser.
• On the menu bar, click on File, and select Print. (You can also click the menu bar on
  Chrome and Firefox, and click Print from the menu.)
• Click the Properties or Preferences button to open the
  Epson printer settings.
• Click the Maintenance tab on the new window.
• Click the icon next to the Epson Status Monitor.
  
• View the ink level/s in the graphical section of the window.

Epson Printer not displaying ink levels

I had the same problem. I installed the Epson "driver and utility package" from the Epson webpage and my ink levels now are displayed when I print. The Network package worked for me.
