  1. Windows Microphone Issue

    Hello,

I am having this interesting issue with my Headphones Mic on this computer. First of all the headphones, I am using are Corsair Void and they are USB connected headphones. Well, the Mic seems to be giving me a lot of trouble where it does not seem to detect any sound. As soon as I plug in my headphones right away I hear the feedback telling me "Microphone off" even though I did not press anything. From that point on they remain muted no matter what I try to do to them. I have updated the drivers, I changed USB ports, and I went into the windows sound menu making the mic as default input. Nothing seems to be making it work except if I go Sound>Recording>ClickProperties of the Microphone>Listen and check to listen to this device. I finally can hear my voice, and once I uncheck the microphone begins. I checked permission already and reinstalled drivers. I have a feeling something in windows is blocking my headphone's mic from working as intended. These headphones are only a week old, and I am hoping to get them to work before attempting to switch to a different pair. Let me know guys what you think the problem might be, and how I can fix it.

    Thank You Very Much.

    :)

    Microphone issues

    Hi Michael,

Here are the possible reasons why you're getting an error "The microphone did not pick anything up" when using it:

    • Incorrect settings (microphone is not set as default device)
    • Corrupted or outdated driver
    • Faulty device

For us to isolate the issue, we'd like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue(e.g. Windows updates)?
    • Have you tried connecting other microphone to your computer?
    • Have you tried connecting the microphone to the other computer?

In the meantime, we suggest running the Recording Audio Troubleshooter to find and repair problems with recording sound. We also suggest checking if your microphone is set as your default recording device. For troubleshooting steps, please see
    Geethu B's on this
    link.

We're looking forward to your reply.
