Windows 10: Can you still recover sticky notes from a deleted windows 10 user profile?

Hi All,


I am in need of getting back my Sticky Notes from a windows 10 profile that was deleted. We selected the "Keep Files" but we there no related Sticky Notes Files in there.


Kindly let me know if there is a possibly solution.

Dear Support,

I had to move an user from one pc to another Windows 10 and deleted the old user profile. Recovered files from deleted items.

I have moved the plum.sqlite to the new pc, location -

• %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState
• Im not able to open Sticky notes at all. I have tried on another Window 10 machine and still the same issue, Sticky notes are not opening.
  
• Please let me know how to extract the old sticky notes.

Let's try a couple of steps:

Step 1: Recover Missing Sticky Notes from the File Location

When you accidentally delete a sticky note, the app data is still there. We can restore deleted sticky notes from a StickyNotes.snt file.

Open File Explorer on Windows, navigate to C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes.

Find and right click on StickyNotes.snt file.

Select Restore Previous Versions.

Step 2: Recover Closed Sticky Notes from All Notes.

Open Sticky Notes app.

Right click on Sticky Notes app on Task bar, then choose All notes.

A full list of notes will appear, including the one that you closed.

Double click the note that you want to recover, then it will display as a standalone note like all regular ones.

Can't delete unused Sticky Notes neither change their colors

Thank you for using Windows10.

I understand your concern and would suggest that you try deleting the sticky note from the source location of the sticky notes from the specific user account.

The AppData folder in the below step is a hidden folder, try the below step to unhide it and later try the steps mentioned.

Steps to unhide:

• Open File Explorer by right click on Start Icon
  and select File Explorer.
• Click on View and check Hidden items.

Try the below step to delete the sticky note:

a) Open File Explorer.

b) Navigate to the following location:
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes.

c) In the Stick notes
folder you will find a file called StickyNotes.snt

d) You will need the file named StickyNotes.snt

Note: If you delete StickyNotes.snt
file this will delete all the sticky notes present on the computer event the new ones.

Make sure that you backup any newly created sticky notes.
