Windows 10: App store, doesn't understand that an app is deleted

Hello,

So I had Microsoft flight simulator installed via the Windows App Store.
I was playing it fine etc etc but I then had to move it to a new drive. Simple enough.

Well, It failed somehow and now I have a plethora of issues with it..

The game was installed using the App Store and with Gamepass access.

1, I've clicked un-install from Apps and Features. THIS DOES NOT WORK *note* The flight sim does not show a file size.



2, Flight simulator says, "Play" in the App Store

3, I've tried clicking Reset, and Repair for both Flight simulator and the App store application. Both are successful however, nothing changes.

4, I've ran WSReset.exe from the *Run command* box. It does it's thing and then opens the app store as expected.
5, I've check permissions on the Windows Apps folder, gained access and the Microsoft Flight simulator folder is not present. So the file/folder is infact gone..

6, I've un-installed xbox apps and re-installed them, this didn't fix the problem.

7, The xbox apps also say "Play" just like the App Store.

8, Upon clicking "play" is takes me to "Gaming services" which is installed. Clicking the update button does litterally nothing...


9, searching and clicking Microsoft flight simulator "open" takes me back to 8, Gaming Services screen on the App Store.

10, IT'S COMPLETLY BROKEN.......

11, Windows is up-to-date and no amount of Troubleshooting does anything. they run fine but no issues are detected

12, I've noticed that the Bits Service shows "Stopped" in Task manager, when started either in task manager or CMD admin it runs fine but later stops after say 10 minutes.

I am completely at my wits end with this crappy app store....
The game is not on my HDD at all, i've checked all my drives and it is not present.
Literally everything I do it will not allow me to click "Install" because that button currently saying play... This game was running perfectly fine until I selected a new drive to install new apps too and then attempted to re-install the game.

My feeling is, that some form of DRM is preventing the app store from understanding that the game is not installed.

So yeah, there's a lot of reasons why Steam Link would get rejected.

App submissions and approvals is a thing between developer and Apple. Valve intentionally let this information leak probably because Apple's restrictive guidlines will never allow Steam Link to be on the store. Valve is hoping the Steam user base makes a lot of noise so Apple grants Valve and exemption. I doubt it will work. Apple loves control and Steam Link is a portal into the Linux/Windows ecosystem. Even if Steam Link were exclusive to Mac OS, Apple would likely demand Valve use Mac OS's remote desktop features rather than Steam Link.

I'd be shocked if Apple allows it.

I wonder how long it will be before you can't install noncertified apps? The app store is the 1st stepping stone. Although, you'd have to be an idiot to give 30% to these clowns.
