Windows 10: How to install a Win 10 from a disk without a disk drive on a new PC

I just built a new PC but it doesnt have a disk drive and my Win 10 is on a disk. Please help.

Reinstalling Win 10 on new Hard Disk Drive

I am using (for some years) a Toshiba Laptop that came with pre-installed Win 8.

I upgraded this to Win 10, during the free upgrade period.

Because my Laptop was becoming very slow, I have just fixed a new SSD Hard Disk Drive to this Toshiba Laptop.

How do I now transfer / install (or download) the Windows 10 operating system from my old Hard Disk Drive to the new SSD (Disk)

I must mention here that I have the serial number of Win 10 that I was using.

Dell Poweredge SC1430: Win cannot be installed to this disk, drives in LSI SAS 5 connector

I've deleted the drive that was ntfs previously and it became raw. When I had it converted to NTFS before (when working on cmd prompt, goes like this (to show you that I know what I was doing): DISKPART -> list disk -> sel disk 0 -> list vol -> sel vol 0 -> format fs=ntfs quick), the Windows server 2008 was not allowing me to install as it is stating to "ensure that the disk's controller is enabled...." it's FRUSTRATING *Frown

 

Disk management console view is not up-to-date

i dont know how to fix your disk management, but i can fix your partition problems...




open up Command Prompt with admin rights. (Right click, run as admin)


enter in
DISKPART
list disk

then find the Disk number for your Raid array... lets call it number 7 ( you can tell what disk is what by the total size)
type in

Select Disk 7
List Partition (will give you a list of all the partitions..)
Select Partition 1 (im assuming you only have 1 partition on Disk 7) repeat this step if you have more partitions.
ASSIGN


that should get the array up and running ready to use.

side question, have you tried restarting the PC?
