Windows 10: Unable to disable Password/Pin required to login on Windows 10

In the past I have been able to login to my computer automatically without needing to enter my account password or the pin. However after re-installing windows 10 pro recently I am now unable to do this.


I can see the instructions like in the following thread:

However on my PC the check box that states: "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer." in the user accounts window is not even there. It not an option to check at all, it's totally missing. I have also tried the 2nd option in the following guide and that did not work either:

Any advice would be appreciated.

Disabling the login PIN without a password

I've been using a pin to login to windows 10 after boot up, but now I've decided I would rather have it login automatically. I've seen many explanations on how to disable the pin, but they all require a password. I'm pretty sure I never entered a password for this computer. On the first login it gave me the option to use a pin instead of a password, which is what I did. So how do I now modify the startup so that neither a password nor a pin is required. I realize that most people would consider this unsafe ... but this is really want I want to do on this particular computer.

Unable to login using The login PIN

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the pin and check fi it helps.

• In the login page next to “PIN password option”.
• You will find “Other sign in options”, click on it will prompt you for regular password.
• Enter regular password and login to the computer.
• I suggest you to click on the Start Menu
  and select settings.
• Now select Accounts.
• Next select the tab Sign-in option.
• Under the “PIN tab” click on “ADD” option.
• It will prompt you for current pin password and new password, please provide
  new password then apply the changes, restart
  the computer and check if it works.

Disable Windows 10 login password

I have tried this but it does not work for me. I have Windows 10 Pro fully updated (January 2018). When I restart Windows I have to give my pin number although when I am logged in, the User Accounts that comes up with the command netplwiz shows that the
box "users must enter a password to use this computer" is not ticked (I could attach a screenshot but this doesn't seem possible with this post). When I click OK the user Accounts Window closes (back to the desktop). When I restart Windows, the problem remains
and I have to use a password or pin to login. By the way, I have disabled the touch screen.
